Natural Antibiotic Remedy

So as I mentioned in the last post the girls became ill on our last trip to Lao. The aircon blasted us for the whole 9 hour bus ride. They had no chance.

On our way back home Alayna developed a fever and barking cough. So since we were headed to Bangkok anyway, we decided to visit the Adventist hospital to get a diagnosis. The attending doctor said she had Laryngitis (inflammation of the Larynx’s). He said she needed a steroid shot, and to take antibiotics. Oh boy! I thought steroids ??? Umm, he couldn’t explain to me how an immune suppressor like steroids would help her immune system fight off the infection. And it could have been his thick accent, but nevertheless, I wasn’t interested. Now the antibiotics she can not do as she is allergic. And antibiotics are the best either, especially if not absolutely necessary. He mentioned that if I did not do these exact medicines she would develop a bacterial infection  “and you don’t want that” he said.

Don’t get me wrong, I respect doctors and their opinions  but I do know that they are not always right and that there are usually healthier alternatives than pharmaceuticals.

So we headed home the following day and the hunt began for all the ingredients I would need for my recipe  that someone shared with me of Natures Penicillin. Yes, there is such a thing as natural penicillin.

I found all the ingredients and tossed them into Lisa’s blender and gave the girls their first dose. The girls are doing well now and I am very happy to say that they did not need any medications with adverse side effects. God is Good! Here is the recipe for Nature’s Penicillin:

batch Units: US | Metric
1 grapefruit (peeled very thinly so some of the white pith remains)
1 orange (peeled very thinly so some of the white pith remains)
2 lemons (wash thoroughly, can leave peel on)
3 garlic cloves
1/2 large onion
3 drops peppermint oil (optional)
1/16-1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (if heavily congested)

1. Cut the fruit and onion into coarse pieces.

2. Place in a blender and mix well.

3.You may need to add a little bit of water to get the blender to mix it without clogging.

4. Adults – one cup a day.

5. Children – 1/2 cup a day.

6. This amount is not to be taken all at once, but just a spoonful at a time every so often throughout the day, until the total amount desired has been consumed.

7. Pour remainder into glass jar and keep refrigerated. When ready to use, warm slightly in a pan before serving.

Try it out and let me know how it worked for you.

  1. Way to stick it to american medicine from waaaay over in thailand, lol. I’ve heard of that natures penicillin before and I was wondering if it would be different in a juicer. I know blending leaves pulp and so there is stuff the stomach has to digest / process vs juice that is absorbed more readily. Does the recipe work the same and in the same dosage if a juicer is used? thanx!

    • Hi Phil. You are correct about the juicer. When using a juicer which breaks through the fruit or vegetable to the cellular level, leaving only the nutritional juices left and discarding the useless (other than fiber) pulp behind. The juice is then, when drunk passed directly to the blood stream, where it is sent by the body to the most needed areas for healing immediately. Juicing would indeed be the best option. As I must say again….this stuff Works!!!!

  2. So good to know that you are doing good and that you are so good at finding natural cures for your girls. I wish I had the stamina and strength to do all these healthy things. Sure do miss you living across the street…whoever bought it has totally remodeled and why since you had it looking so good? Praying that you have God’s favor and blessings in your new life. Please pray for me as times are hard and just taking it one day at a time. Josh is off to college and doing really well, but that is a happy/sad thing also, you realize that the time you had them went so fast and so wish that I could have maybe done more to be the best Mom I can…just cherish your little ones the way you do and it will make the parting years easier. Love and miss you both….see you again someday i hope!!!

  3. Hi Loretta!!!
    It is so good to hear from you.
    We will certainly keep you and your family in prayer. I am sure you miss Josh, before you know it, he will be married with children. WOW! I will continue to cherish them, and spend as much time as possible with the girls, thank you for the advice. Time certainly does go by fast. I too look at yesterday and wish I had done things better. But perhaps even if we were perfect we would still question ourselves?!? It is nice to have an update on the home, thank you. I hope they didn’t ruin my favorite bathroom :P. How is Jaden? I am sure he is so big now. Love and miss you too. You are so sweet and I miss talking to you. I too hope to see you again. 🙂

  4. Great and encouraging post. It doesn’t take much time to make either.
    Indeed, pharmaceuticals are not the best option.
    Pharmaceutical: from Greek pharmakeutikos, from pharmakeus “preparer of drugs, poisoner”

    Rev 18:23 …for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy SORCERIES (Strong’s 5331) were all nations deceived.
    Sorceries: pharmakeia: the use or the administering of drugs, poisons

    …Christ made use of the simple agencies of nature. While He did not give countenance to drug medication, He sanctioned the use of simple and natural remedies. – {CH 30.3}
    When physicians understand physiology in its truest sense, their use of drugs will be very much less, and finally they will cease to use them at all. {HL 264.4}
